WARRANTY AGAINST – YELLOWING AND LIGHT TRANSMISSION:
If excessive yellowing and light transmission losses as defined herein occur during a ten (10) year period from the date of sale, Sapphire will provide a replacement sheet to the purchaser or a fabricator designated by the purchaser at a cost to the purchaser of 1/120 of the original purchase price for each month from the date of sale. The failed sheet, original sales receipt and this warranty must be returned to Sapphire or the original dealer.
If a replacement sheet cannot be provided within fourteen days, Sapphire may opt to refund the pro-rated purchase price of the original sheet.
WARRANTY AGAINST HAILSTONE BREAKAGE :
If during a three (3) year period from the date of sale this product suffers hail breakage (defined as surface penetration or puncture that permits water to leak through) from hailstones measuring up to 7/8 inch (22.2 mm) traveling at speeds up to 60 meters/second, Sapphire will provide a replacement sheet to the purchaser thereof, or fabricator designated by the purchaser, at a cost to the purchaser of 1/36 of the original purchase price for each month from date of sale. The failed sheet, original sales receipt and this warranty must be returned to Sapphire or to the original dealer. If a replacement sheet cannot be provided within fourteen days, Sapphire may opt to refund the pro-rated purchase price of the original sheet.
This warranty applies only to sheet fabricated, installed, and cleaned according to Sapphire recommendations as stated publications produced by Sapphire products. It is important to note sheet is designed for
weathering resistance and does NOT PROVIDE ABRASION RESISTANCE; NO WARRANTIES ARE EXTENDED ON THE ABRASION RESISTANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS PRODUCT. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER (RE)INSTALLATION EXPENSES OR ANY OTHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT LOSS(ES) WHICH MAY RESULT FROM THE SHEET FAILURE.
Yellowing and Light Transmission: This warranty against yellowing and light transmission applies only to clear Polycarbonate sheets.
The Yellowness Index (YI) of clear sheet cleaned according to the recommendations of Sapphire shall be less than 8.0 during a five-year period from the date of sale, and shall be less than 10 during a ten-year period from the date of sale as determined according to ASTM D1925 (1970). The light transmission characteristics of clear sheet, cleaned according to the recommendations of Sapphire, shall not decrease by more than 12% during a ten-year period from the date of sale when tested by the procedure specified in ASTM D1003.
This warranty is limited to excessive yellowing and light transmission losses due to the degradation of Sapphire SHEET AND DOES NOT COVER YELLOWING OR LIGHT TRANSMISSION LOSSES DUE TO DIRT, ATMOSPHERIC DEPOSITS, ABRASION, OR CHANGES IN THE PHYSICAL STRUCTURE OF THE Sapphire SHEET.
For a period of 3 years, this product shall be warranted against hail breakage (hail breakage defined as skin penetration) from hailstones up to 7/8″ (22.2 mm) traveling at speeds up to 200 ft/sec (60 meters/sec). Resolution of claims will be determined through subsequent impact testing of the sheet in question using ASTM D3029/Ford Modified Gardner Test. A 7/8″ hailstone travelling at 200 ft/sec equates to 5 ft-lbs force on the above test. Sheets testing less than 5 ft-lbs shall be warranted.
You should be aware that all glazing is subject to irreversible depositions of atmospheric elements and can be expected to show signs of hazing eventually.
Annual cleaning following recommended procedures will significantly reduce, but not eliminate, that process. (See reverse side for cleaning and maintenance instructions.) This warranty does not cover abrasion or scratching. THE WARRANTIES STATED IN THIS PUBLICATION ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES (EXCEPT OF TITLE), WRITTEN OR ORAL, STATUTORY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. GENERAL ELECTRIC’S SOLE OBLIGATION, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE, SHALL BE LIMITED TO REPLACING THE SHEET OR REFUNDING THE PRO-RATED ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE, AT ITS OPTION, WHICH SHALL BE YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY. GE STRUCTURED PRODUCTS SHALL IN NO EVENT BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL GENERAL ELECTRIC BE LIABLE FOR ANY AMOUNT GREATER THAN THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE SHEET PURCHASED.
Notice: This dealer is authorized to fulfill the above obligations of this warranty to the purchaser.

Sapphire – Polycarbonate Sheets
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Annual cleanings using proper procedures and compatible cleaners is recommended to prolong the service life.
For general cleaning, it is recommended that the following instructions and cleaning agents be used.
These procedures and cleaners are also recommended for use on the untreated, interior surface of the clear Sapphire sheet.
1. Rinse sheet with lukewarm water.
2. Wash sheet with a mild soap and lukewarm water.
3. Use a soft cloth or sponge and gently wash to loosen remaining dirt and grime. DO NOT SCRUB, USE BRUSHES OR ABRASIVE CLEANERS: the coating on sheet is UV resistant. It is NOT a Mar-Resistant Coating.
4. Repeat rinse and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spotting.

• Do not use abrasive or highly alkaline cleaners. Never scrape with razor blades or other sharp instruments.
• Benzene, leaded gasoline, acetone or carbon tetrachloride should never be used.
• Do not clean in hot sun or at elevated temperatures.
FRESH PAINT SPLASHES, GREASE AND GLAZING COMPOUND REMOVAL
Before drying, these conditions can be easily remedied by rubbing lightly with a good grade of VM&P naphtha, isopropyl alcohol, or butyl cellosolve. Afterwards, a warm final wash should be made using a mild soap or detergent solution and a thorough rinsing with clean water.
LABEL AND STICKER REMOVAL
The use of kerosene or VM&P naphtha are generally effective in removing labels and stickers. A warm wash and rinse should always follow the use of these products.
In cases where the sticker material, such as vinyl, does not allow the penetration of solvent, the application of heat (a hair dryer, for example) will soften the adhesive and promote removal.
Caution: Excessive heat can cause surface damage.
Sapphire sheet is coextruded on one side. The coextruded side must be glazed outwards or towards the light source to provide protection for the Sapphire sheet substrate.
